Completed in 2010 this Conran and Partners designed highly environmentally responsible family home sits in the grounds of a former school (Heron's Ghyll) near Forest Row in Sussex. Its ground source heating and high level of insulation makes it incredibly cheap to run. Copper is used for the roof and walls of the first floor, chosen for its timeless quality and ability to weather naturally with time. Walls are covered with a lime based render with a chalky off-white colour. Glazing is predominantly orientated toward the garden.
