On the site of an historic Victorian timber yard in the heart of Kensington this Conran designed luxury four-bedroom town house was completed by Stonehurst Estates in 2006. The L-shaped 230 square meter house is on 3 levels surrounding an inner courtyard which is decorated with a four metre fountain cascading down one wall. The materials used include copper cladding on the walls and roof, which will age gracefully. Etched glass in the windows complements the copper walls. The 50 square metre living area has 3.6m high ceilings with fully sliding glass doors opening out on to the courtyard. Solid oak floors, imaginative use of light-wells and portholes to maximise light and contemporary stairs, ironwork and glass balustrades all reflect the attention to detail.
